about

In 1997 I travelled through the remote northern part of India. I wanted to get to Leh, the fabled capital of Ladakh, home to some of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in the world.
Written in 2002 in Vancouver

lyrics

Pass the crash scene
and keep your eyes on the road
You’re so close to the edge now
and it’s so far below

We pass through Kargil at midnight
this town feels so cold
I can feel death everywhere
so I just sit here and do as I’m told

Please play that gorgeous song again
the one with the singers and drums
The moon’s just so full up ahead
like it could just swallow us up

We piss out the window
cause there’s no time to stop
to be there by morning
so we climb up to the rooftop
to Leh
Leh

Pass the crash scene
and keep your eyes on the road
you’re so close to the edge now
and it’s so far below
to Leh
